Your goal

Be the last player in the game. You have no teammates, and if there are other Traitors you have to outlast them too. The order matters: Assassins first, then the Leader.

You win when

  • Every opponent has left the game, other Traitors included.

You lose when

  • The Leader falls while an Assassin is still alive. The Assassins win.
  • Every Assassin and Traitor is out while a Leader still stands. That includes you.

Strategy

  • Early on, you are effectively a Guardian. Help keep the Leader alive while the Assassins are a threat.
  • Then switch sides. Once the Assassins are gone, the Leader is your last real obstacle, and their Guardians fall the moment the Leader does.
  • Traitor unveils are among the strongest in the game. Save yours for the turn it swings everything, not the first time you feel threatened.
  • Keep your own life total healthy. You need to survive every fight, not just win one.
  • Know how many Traitors are in the game. With two, the other Traitor is your hardest opponent, because they want exactly what you want.
  • Don’t let the Leader team get too strong while you are helping them. It is easy to protect the Leader so well you can’t beat them later.

How to bluff

  • Play the perfect Guardian for as long as it lasts. The Leader will defend you, and the Assassins will target you less.
  • Help the Assassins just enough to make the Guardians reveal themselves, without letting the Leader actually die.
  • Be the voice of reason. A player who seems to want “what’s best for the table” rarely gets attacked.

What to watch for

  • The number of Assassins left. If only one is alive, don’t let the Leader drop to a single big hit.
  • Players gaining trust faster than you. A Guardian who has proved themselves will be a problem in the endgame.
  • Your timing. If the Assassins collapse faster than expected, you need to be ready to finish the Leader right away.
