Roles

Four roles, three teams, one throne

Your identity card gives you one of four roles. The role decides your team and how you win. Pick a role for a full strategy guide and every identity that carries it.

The teams

The Leader and every Guardian are one team. All the Assassins are another. Every Traitor is a team of one. A team wins together, so a player who was knocked out early still wins if their team does.

Leader team

Leader Guardian

Survive until every Assassin and Traitor is gone.

Assassin team

Assassin

Bring down the Leader while one of you still stands.

Each Traitor alone

Traitor

Be the last player in the game.

Who knows what

At the start of the game, every player knows:

You areYou know
LeaderTheir own role. Nothing about anyone else.
GuardianTheir own role and who the Leader is. Not the other Guardians.
AssassinTheir own role and who the Leader is. Not the other Assassins.
TraitorTheir own role and who the Leader is. Not the other Traitors.

Everyone also knows how many of each role are in the game (see the table). The rest you work out from what people do.

How the game ends
